El Hospital Sótero del Río se encuentra en medio de un escándalo tras la eliminación masiva de interconsultas de pacientes en lista de espera, lo que ha llevado a la renuncia del director y a la apertura de un sumario

Más de 323 mil interconsultas de pacientes en lista de espera fueron eliminadas, provocando la renuncia del director.

 

El Hospital Sótero del Río, ubicado en la comuna de Puente Alto y considerado uno de los recintos médicos más importantes del sector sur de la Región Metropolitana, se encuentra en medio de un escándalo. Más de 323 mil interconsultas de pacientes en lista de espera fueron eliminadas de forma masiva. Algunos de estos procedimientos jamás se realizaron, lo que significa que habrían sido borrados del sistema sin respetar las normas.

El subsecretario de Redes Asistenciales, Osvaldo Salgado, explicó este miércoles que “hemos aceptado la renuncia del director del hospital que presentó hoy día en la mañana. En relación a la alarma nos parece importante, pero al mismo tiempo insistir en que el sistema está atento y preocupado de la solución de este problema que nos parece grave, sobre todo porque ha generado alarma pública y eso nos preocupa”.

Además, la autoridad de Gobierno anunció un sumario en vista de la gravedad del caso y comunicó que se aceptó la renuncia del director de Hospital Sótero del Río, Luis Arteaga, considerando que parte de las más de 323 mil interconsultas se eliminaron pasando por encima de los protocolos del Ministerio de Salud.

Salgado también señaló que fue el Servicio de Salud Sur Oriente el que “nos informó que habían pesquisado una situación anómala respecto a una salida muy masiva de personas de una lista de espera. Ellos mismos iniciaron una auditoría y nosotros instruimos un sumario que está en este momento vigente”, por lo que espera “el resultado de ese sumario”.

El subsecretario agregó que no habrían “antecedentes en otros hospitales de que esto sucediera, es una situación aislada”, y detalló que, considerando el preocupante caso, se pidieron auditorías a otros recintos de salud, con el fin de comprobar que “efectivamente no sea una situación que pudiera ser similar”.

“Quiero decir enfáticamente que no es una política ni del Ministerio ni de los servicios de salud reducir la lista de espera de esa manera. Es un hecho lamentable, nos parece grave, pero que ha ocurrido particularmente en ese hospital”, expuso.

En ese sentido, la autoridad de Gobierno mencionó que “hemos estado atentos porque finalmente lo que importa es lo que ha pasado con esos pacientes, y le hemos pedido al servicio un plan de solución respecto a los pacientes«
